Due to a strong east south east wind, Swanpool Beach Fireworks on 12th September evening have been cancelled. The fireworks were to be set off from a barge, but due to the forecast winds the barge would not be able to get to the beach or anchor safely in the cove. We are so disappointed to have to cancel and hope that the message will get to those who had planned to visit.
On Friday 12th September there will be a free firework display in aid of the Sunrise Appeal at Swanpool Beach in Falmouth.
Swanpool Beach Café will be open for the duration of the evening serving their usual delicious hot food, drinks and ice creams. In addition to this there will be a nachos and hot dog stand.
The fireworks will be let off from a barge on the water by the Cornish Fireworks Co. and promise to be a spectacular display to wow the crowds.
Pendennis Brass band will be performing on the beach prior to the fireworks and collecting for the Sunrise Appeal through-out the evening.
The car park will be open, with a donation from the takings to be made to the Sunrise Appeal. The Sunrise Appeal raises funds for the clinical oncology unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, Cornwall.
Also, Hooked on the Rocks (formerly known as Indaba on the Beach) will be open for the evening menu and drinks. Please be advised to book in advance as spaces are going quickly.
All the activities will start at approximately 6:30pm, so get there early to park up and be part of the atmosphere at Swanpool Beach. The fireworks will begin when darkness descends.
